Women’s Fund 4th Annual Luncheon

The Women’s Fund of East Tennessee awarded $99,500 in grants to nine regional organizations working to improve the lives of women and girls in East Tennessee at the organization’s 4th Annual Luncheon held at Cherokee Country Club. The mission of the Women’s Fund is to be a catalyst to transform the lives of low-income women and girls in a 25-county area of East Tennessee.

Organizations receiving 2015 grants were A Hand Up for Women, Restoration House of East Tennessee, Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County, Branches of Monroe County, Inc., Centro Hispano, Red Legacy Recovery, Inc., STAND of Scott County, and Tusculum College.

Natalie and Jim Haslam and the Haslam Family Foundation were presenting sponsors of the event. Platinum sponsors included Sandy and Hank Bertelkamp, Nita and Rab Summers, Wood Family Foundation, and 21st Mortgage. Gold sponsors included Ann Bailey, Randy and Jenny Boyd, Clayton Bank, Clayton Homes, Cornerstone Foundation of Knoxville, Gemstore by Jewelry Television, Home Federal Bank, Lawler-Wood Housing, LLC, TIS, Trotter and Company, and The University of Tennessee Medical Center, Grantee Sponsors where Susan Brown & Dawn Ford and Lucy & Ray Hand, and the Champagne Room sponsor was Nancy Land. Robin Wilhoit with WBIR served as Mistress of Ceremonies at the event attended by 420 people. Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys tight end and founder of The SCORE Foundation, which seeks to provide support and assistance for families and individuals affected by domestic violence, was the guest speaker, introduced by Phillip Fulmer.​​

An award designed especially for the Women’s Fund created by world-renowned glass artist Tommie Rush was announced and presented to the grantees; and beautiful centerpieces, created by Natalie Hall of Cachepot, adorned each table.
