Turning Advocacy Into Action With Savanna’s Law

A major milestone for Tennessee took effect on January 1, 2026, with the implementation of Savanna’s Law. This new legislation makes Tennessee the first state in the nation to establish a registry for persistent domestic violence offenders, an important step toward prevention and accountability. As reported in a recent Guardian article examining Tennessee’s new domestic violence registry, the law is designed to strengthen protections and help prevent repeat offenses. At the Women’s Fund, advocating alongside community partners and legislators to remove barriers that keep low-income women and families from achieving financial stability is central to our mission. We are proud to see this law go into effect and hopeful about the role it will play in strengthening safety across our state.

Together, we are building safer, more stable communities where women and families can thrive.
