Welcome to WF, Julianna!

The Women’s Fund of East Tennessee is thrilled to welcome Julianna Herod as Communications Intern. A senior, Julianna is excited to graduate in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Health and Human Sciences degree in Child and Family Studies and Psychology with a concentration in Community Outreach. Following her arrival to the WF team, she has been a great asset by expanding social media efforts, updating the Women’s Fund website and blog, and assisting in event preparation. Julianna sought the communications internship at WF in hopes of gaining experience. She says, “It has certainly been a time I will always treasure. I intentionally choose to invest my time in meaningful and impactful work, so it has certainly been an honor to contribute my little piece to the brilliant work the Women’s Fund of East Tennessee does. Mrs. Terry Morgan, the executive director, is an inspiring individual. She has great leadership qualities that have allowed me to learn and grow throughout my time here thus far.”

In line with our vision “every woman self-sustaining,” Julianna has a background working with young women in residential treatment providing direct care and teaching life skills. The Women’s Fund’s commitment to transforming lives of women and girls is something she is truly passionate about. Julianna believes that you are never too small to make a difference, and she appreciates the continuous efforts of WF and the hope the team inspires!

Although Julianna hails from Nashville, Rocky Top will always be home sweet home. Throughout her time as a student at the University of Tennessee, she has enjoyed being a mentor in the Grief Outreach Initiative, a volunteer counselor at grief camps (Camp H.U.G.S. and Katerpillar Kids Kamp), an extended orientation leader in the Ignite Summit program, a Leadership and Service Ambassador in the Center for Leadership and Service, as well as a research assistant for Dr. Heidi Stolz in the Center for Parenting. Julianna is an active member of Alpha Omicron Pi, Relay for Life Executive Committee as a Team Ambassador, Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society, Order of Omega, and Tau Sigma. Julianna is looking forward to serving with Volunteer Services at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital as a full time intern during her last semester at UT while continuing to keep in touch with the WF team.

Feel free to reach out to Julianna at julianna.herod@gmail.com. Welcome, Julianna!
